Your neighborhood is a fun place to walk your dog or play with friends.
Here are some tips to help you stay safe in your neighborhood.
If you find a gun outside or in a friend's home NEVER assume that the gun is a toy. Some models of small caliber handguns like the .25 ACP can weigh much less than a pound. If you are not ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN, that the gun is a toy, you should not handle it at all. If the gun looks like it is mostly made of metal, it is probably real.
If a gun is found outside the house, it should never be touched, except by a police officer. As soon as possible, a police officer should be brought to the scene. NEVER TRY TO BRING A GUN THAT YOU FOUND TO A PARENT, ADULT OR POLICE OFFICER. You should instead, bring the police officer to the gun. This is the right thing to do.
